The VDMA is the industry association of German and European machinery and plant manufacturers. It is one of the largest industrial associations in Germany and advises and represents the interests of more than 3,500 member companies from the mechanical engineering, plant construction and supplier industries.
elobau’s sustainability strategy was the focus of the visit, during which the former Managing Director and current Chairman of the Foundation Advisory Board, Michael Hetzer, told the VDMA about his experiences in transforming elobau into a foundation company. During an exciting tour of the company, the elobau sustainability managers not only presented the climate-neutral new buildings, but also the recording of employees’ commuting mobility, which is used to automatically record commuting emissions for the carbon footprint. Afterwards, representatives from various areas at elobau had the opportunity to present their personal relationship to sustainability in their daily work. They reported on the goals they set themselves, the challenges they face and the successes they have already achieved in the area of sustainability. This impressive demonstration of sustainability practices at elobau once again highlighted the company’s commitment to a more sustainable future.
