elobau manufactures sensors and control systems for industrial applications and mobile machinery. The technical products of the Allgäu-based company are characterised by a high level of vertical integration and are manufactured in a climate-neutral way in Germany. With our innovative, non-contact sensor products, we support our customers worldwide in building machines and vehicles that set standards in terms of performance, operating comfort, safety and quality.
At bauma 2025, we are presenting our latest innovative developments. The focus is on the new Robust Joystick JE, the new generation of joysticks from elobau. Another highlight at our booth is a joystick with selected components of the JE joystick developed especially for the Kenki Technology Group (KTEG).
Innovative collaboration for customised solutions
The vision behind the collaboration: a state-of-the-art joystick, specially designed to meet the needs of our customer KTEG, with innovative joystick components and the latest software solution.
In addition to its expertise in the field of standard products, elobau has also made a name for itself in the field of customised products. We have been working with KTEG for many years on innovative and user-friendly solutions for operating excavators in the future. With the development of the new joystick, this exchange has been intensified and expanded to include a third partner, Vemcon.
‘The aim of the collaboration was to develop a sustainable change in the control and operation of an excavator. In doing so, we always had our sights set on creating more functionality and ease of use.’
Mario Halwachs, Head of Region Asia at elobau

Use with tiltrotators
The new KTEG joystick is specially designed for excavators that work with so-called tiltrotators. Tiltrotators are quick couplers that can rotate 360° and tilt up to 45° in both directions. This makes the tiltrotator the ‘wrist’ of the excavator, allowing attachments such as ditch cleaning buckets to rotate and tilt. This flexibility is a major advantage, especially on construction sites with limited space. Tiltrotators increase efficiency and productivity for operators and are characterised by a high degree of versatility, as they are compatible with a range of attachments and can therefore be used for a variety of applications (e.g. for earthworks, cable laying or landscaping). They also help to reduce soil compaction by minimising the need to reposition the excavator and are designed to meet modern safety standards, reducing the risk of accidents on the construction site.

Technical highlights of the new KTEG joystick
The new KTEG joystick features state-of-the-art hardware in the form of selected components of the innovative Robust Joystick JE, the new generation of joysticks from elobau. On the one hand, the buttons and thumb tips of the JE are built into the KTEG joystick: these are absolutely resistant to water and dirt thanks to their high-quality construction. The buttons, which have been optimised for the joystick, are as intuitive and ergonomic as they come. They set new standards in terms of design and feel, and the RGB multicolour LEDs can be used to display any colour as well as individual brightness levels. In addition, they have a lifespan of > 4 million cycles and ensure maximum safety thanks to Performance Level PLc. The built-in thumb tips have also been redeveloped with a great deal of elobau know-how – for maximum control with minimal effort.
In addition to the buttons and thumb tips, the KTEG joystick also features the touch sensors for presence detection of the new JE and the vibrotactile feedback. The integrated touch sensors can be used to prevent unwanted machine movements, for example. The integration of a vibration module with settings that can be individually customised to the customer’s needs via CAN allows vibrotactile feedback to be individually integrated for greater occupational safety.
The JE’s heated handle also ensures greater comfort when operating the excavator in cold conditions in the new KTEG joystick.
Experience the new KTEG HighSpec Joystick at bauma 2025
We are very pleased to be able to present the new KTEG joystick at bauma 2025 – at the elobau stand, the KTEG/Hitachi stand and the Vemcon stand. The interactive presentation means that you can not only see the joystick in person but also experience its uses virtually.
We look forward to your visit!
